I am delighted by the overwhelming vote the resolution received. I hope the European Commission will pay attention to the demands from all but the smallest minority in this Parliament that there should be legislation enacted now for a European race relations act to protect the 12 to 14 million third country nationals who live within the European Community and also to protect those Europeans who have a different race, religion or skin colour from the others. I hope the European Commission - even if it is not represented here at present - is listening.
The people who have just been speaking are the representatives of the eleven out of a Parliament of 567 who do not agree with the position of the rest of us.
