Mr President, I refer to the first page of the Minutes and the President's announcement yesterday that he had received the petition of more than three million signatures on the transport of horses. That minute states that the petition would be forwarded to the relevant committees. However, this petition supports a motion for a resolution that has been put before Parliament under Rule 47. I would suggest, therefore, that the presidency should consider it unnecessary for the petition to go to the Committee on Petitions: it could go straight to the relevant committee - whichever the President decides - for a report. I myself hope that it might be the Committee on Transport and Tourism. But I do not see the need for it to be referred to the Petitions Committee as it supports a resolution that is before Parliament.
