I am researching a position in opposition to the death penalty in the
US, and I was wondering if you could forward me a little bit of info.
Specfically, I am interested in how critical the death penalty is to
your efforts abroad. From reading your ad in the NYT, (Sept 28 '94)
it would seem that abolition of the death penalty would be one of the
issues on your agenda which would elicit the most interest from U.S.
citizens (Esperanto is interesting, but...).
I am also interested in your position regarding the international
penal court. Frankly, I have trouble believing that you alone could
pressure the U.N. to set up such a sweeping position. Doesthis have
a chance of success? Also, what exactly would this court do? How
could it stop the genocide? Trials in absentia don't seem to be
doing much good now; do you havea better idea?
Thank you very much for yourtime and information,
Dan Pittman
