Report of the Committee of Governmental Experts to Evaluate the Present Structure of the Secretariat in the Administrative, Finance and Personnel Areas

The General Assembly,

Recalling its resolution 35/211, by which it established the Committee of Governmental Experts to Evaluate the Present Structure of the Secretariat in the Administrative, Finance and Personnel Areas,

1. Takes note with appreciation of the report of the Committee in document A/36/44;

2. Requests the Committee to continue its work, taking into account the relevant reports of the Joint Inspection Unit, with the comments of the Secretary-General thereon, and to submit a final report to the General Assembly at its thirty-seventh session;

3. Requests the Secretary-General to consult with the Committee prior to its next session on the questions outlined in the Committee's report in document A/36/44;

4. Further requests the Secretary-General to submit to the General Assembly his views on the final report of the Committee;

5. Decides to consider the final report of the Committee and the report of the Secretary-General thereon at its thirty-seventh session;

6. Further requests the Secretary-General that, pending and without prejudice to the decision to be taken by the General Assembly at its thirty-seventh session, he maintain the interim measures within the existing administrative structure as provided for in paragraph 4 of resolution 35/211.
