Pledging target for contributions to the World Food Programme for the biennium 1987-1988

The Economic and Social Council,

Noting that the Committee on Food Aid Policies and Programmes, at its nineteenth session, held from 20 to 31 May 1985, postponed consideration of the pledging target for contributions to the World Food Programme for the biennium 1987-1988 to its twentieth session, to be held from 30 September to 11 October 1985,

Taking into account the fact that the pledging target will serve as a guiding figure for donor countries at the pledging conference for contributions to the World Food Programme for the biennium 1987-1988, to be convened early in 1986,

Recommends the General Assembly to consider at its fortieth session the pledging target for contributions to the World Food Programme for the biennium 1987-1988.
