The European Parliament,

A. concerned by the refusal of the authorities in the former Soviet Union to allow Olga Bondarenko, aged 16, to join her parents Valery and Carissa Bondarenko in the Netherlands where they have both been accorded refugee status,

B. having regard to the obligations of all the signatories to the Helsinki Final Act and the Paris Charter for a new Europe concerning the reuniting of families,

1. Calls on those responsible to allow Olga Bondarenko to travel to the Netherlands at once;

2. Instructs its President to forward this resolution to the Commission, the Council and to the President of the Soviet Union.
