The European Parliament,

-having regard to the draft Council regulation establishing a Cohesion Fund (6253/94),

-having regard to the Council's request for Parliament's assent, pursuant to the second paragraph of Article 130d of the EC Treaty (C3-0213/94),

-having regard to Rule 80 of its Rules of Procedure,

-having regard to its resolution and recommendations of 24 March 1994 on the proposal for a Council Regulation establishing the Cohesion Fund,

-having regard to the Commission and Council statement to Parliament on 4 May 1994,

-having regard to the report of the Committee on Regional Policy, Regional Planning and Relations with Regional and Local Authorities (A3-0342/94),

1.Gives its assent to the draft Council regulation establishing the Cohesion Fund;

2.Instructs its President to forward this assent to the Council and Commission.
