The European Parliament,

-having regard to the proposal for a Council Decision, COM(95)0064 - 95/0065(AVC),

-having regard to the Council's request for Parliament's assent pursuant to Article 238 of the EC Treaty, in conjunction with Article 228(2), second sentence, and (3), second subparagraph (7126/95 - C4-0257/95),

-having regard to Rule 90(7) of its Rules of Procedure,

-having regard to the report of the Committee on External Economic Relations and the opinions of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Security and Defence Policy, the Committee on Budgets and the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and Industrial Policy (A4-0222/95),

1.Gives its assent to the conclusion of the protocol;

2.Instructs its President to forward this resolution to the Council and Commission, and the governments and parliaments of the Member States and of the Republic of Malta.
