(Consultation procedure)

The European Parliament,

-having regard to the proposal for a Council Decision, COM(95)0419 - 95/0227(CNS),

-having regarded to the draft agreement for scientific and technological cooperation between the European Community and Canada initialled by the Commission,

-having regard to Articles 228(2) and 130m of the EC Treaty,

-having been consulted by the Council pursuant to Article 228(3), first subparagraph of the EC Treaty (C4-0466/95),

-having regard to Rule 90(7) of its Rules of Procedure,

-having regard to the report of the Committee on Research, Technological Development and Energy (A4-0320/95),

1.Approves the conclusion of the agreement;

2.Instructs its President to forward this opinion to the Council, the Commission and the governments and parliaments of the Member States.
