Of course, one of the main goals of Radical Party should continue to be the transformation of the United Nations Organization into an institution able to democratically take decisions and to implement them. Nevertheless, we have not to forget that this will not be possible - and perhaps not even desirable - untill the majority of the member States will not be democratic and respectful of human and civil rights. Should we allow a number of representatives of the regimes of Fidel Castro, Saddam Hussein, Deng Xiao Ping & co. to take by voting in the General Assembly any decision for the whole world?I do believe that no serious improving of the UNO will be possible if most totalitarian regimes will not have been one by one eliminated before. Meanwhile, we democrats have to try any way to use for our aims the Organization; but the enemies of democracy and right will be doing just the same to save themselves and their power.
So, let's not stop to use also many other ways to attack those regimes: nonviolence, International regional conferences and institutions, bilateral diplomacy, spread of information, economical sanctions and pressures.
