I would like to indicate two texts on Chechen problem, inserted by just now me into the Conference Radical Party, especially that one, containing the appeal of International Non-Violence Society.
I didn't write till now in no conference here on the Chechen problem. Of course, not because I do not consider it is an important problem. It was really a big question for, what for a position to take on that issue.
On the one hand, I am completely agree with Stango, that Russian government (as well as Bosnian, Croatian, Ukrainian, Moldavian or Georgian one) has the full legal, political and moral right to undertake all legal steps (also including sending troops) to prevent the armed insurrections on their own territory.
On the other hand, the way which the Russian authorities and armed forces are following, making this now in Chechnya (preventing the mass media and public opinion to receive the latest and full information from the region, air strikes against the inhabitant areas of Grozny, a Russian city on Russian territory, populated by Russian citizens, etc.) prevent me to applaude the military action of my government in Chechnya.
In this context I consider that position expressed in the appeal of the International Non-Violence Society is almost correct. Almost, because I can not share some "pacifist" statements there (like "no problem can be resolved by violence", if to consider "violence" as any use of force).
Nevertheless I propose the Radical Party to answer the INVS invitation and join that appeal. Thus, my request is addressed to Emma as our secretary: do I have enough "fullpower" to send them fax, stating that Transnational Radical Party join this appeal too? I'm sure, only having the "official" permission from Emma, we can join as a party a document of such kind.
