As far as I see, the absense of formally established membership fees for 1996 (apart of Italy and Bosnia) is the only reason why we still cannot open the membership campaign for 1996 abroad Italy - at least in Russia and other Commonwealth states.
Here in the Conference Segreteria there were inserted a cupple of weeks ago the new fees proposed by Michele Boselli. For what concerns Russia (USD 19 as for Michele), I have another proposal. More or less we used to operate with average monthly sallary for what concerns under-developed countries such as ours. The average sallary in Russia in August 1995 was RUR 560,000, "Izvestia" reports. It is about USD 124.44. Of course, it is for all the Russia, in Moscow, Saint Petersburg the sallaries and prices differ very much with the rest of the country. If we take the average sallary as a base for MINIMUM FEE, and price (in Moscow) of 1 daily newspaper, 1 cup of coffee, 1 bus ticket as a base for RECOMMENDED FEE, we will see something like:
Minimum fee USD 12.00
Recommended fee (if newspaper) USD 49.00
Recommended fee (if bus ticket) USD 81.00
Recommended fee (if coffee) USD 162.00
I think, we must nevertheless base on average sallary in the whole Russia, therefore I propose:
- minimum fee USD 12.00
- recommended fee USD 50.00
As for others Commonwealth states, I am waiting for the respective data from our friends in Kiev, Chisinau, Minsk, Tashkent, Almaty, Bishkek, Tbilisi, Baku and Erevan.
