As we learned the last night only, Valentin OSKOCKIJ became a victim of assault on November 3.

He should be visiting Poland until November 10 and we were waiting for him to continue some activity in the framework of preparations to the Hands Off Cain convention in Moscow. Instead, he came back to Moscow on November 3 and the same evening was attacked by four unknown persons near the entrance of his home. He was very seriously beaten (heavy brain concussion, multiple fractures of the face). Neither money, nor cloth were stolen. Only the brief case with documents of the recent Anti-fascist Congress and articles about military reform was taken by criminals.

Till now he is in the hospital. Yesterday I was the first one, whom he called after the assault.

Valentin Oskockij is writer, member of Amnesty Commission by Russian president, editor of the "Literaturnye Vesti" newspaper. He is member of Radical Party, ARA and Hands Off Cain. He is also going to participate in the upcoming political elections on December 17 on the Federal Democratic Movement list.
