I reply to your letter from the August 29th, 1996, concerning the support for the candidacy of Mr. Wei Jingsheng for the Nobel Peace Prize 1997. Thank you for detailed materials about stirred destiny of this notable Chinese disident.

Let me inform you that the Charles University plans to present it`s own proposal for the candidacy of Wei Jingsheng for the Nobel Peace Prize.
