To the attention of Prof. Samdhong Rinpoche
Chairman of the Assembly of Tibetan people's deputies
From Olivier Dupuis
Brussels, March 17, 1997
Mr Chairman, dear Rinpoche,
I was happy to receive your letter of March 6, and at the same time disappointed to receive the confirmation that you couldn't attend the demonstration in Geneva. As you probably know, the demonstration was good, although not very good.
As for the Satyagraha, I share your concerns. But, probably due to problems of communication, I'm not sure, reading your letter, that you received the one I sent about one and an half month ago to His Holiness, to you and the members of the government in exile. For that reason, I enclose that letter.
On that matter, I had a short conversation during the Geneva Demonstration with Kalon Tashi Wangdi and he proposed to discuss that matter at the occasion of the meeting in Washington.
Always about Geneva and the Satyagraha I will send you the translation of the speech I did in Geneva in which I try to developp a little bit what all together we could do in order to prepare in the meanwhile, as a first step, the Satyagraha outside Tibet.
About the initiative of May 22, we will contact Mrs Nirmala Despande in the very next days.
I hope you are in good spirit and health. I will be very happy to see you soon and to discuss with you such important matters.
My very best wishes.
Sincerely yours,
Olivier Dupuis
