I agree with you that the death penalty should be abolished, but my
reasons *are* humanitarian. Legal details are artificial constructs and
fairly arbitrary. I don't think such important questions should rest on
such things.
Legalizing drugs, for purposes of taking them out of the hands of the
criminals, however, is ludicrous. The same criminals, the same people,
will carry on the business of selling drugs and they will not make less
money if the industry is legalized, they will increase business a
hundred fold and make more money than ever, while killing innocent
children with their products.
Legalizing drugs like marijuana and cocaine, and heroin is so dangerous
it borders on insanity. Look at the legal drugs we have now: cigarettes
and alcohol. These kill hundreds of thousands of people each year just
in North America. The death toll would be in the millions if you had
your way.
Another question, if you feel like answering: Where does your party
stand on the MAI, (Multilateral Agreement on Investment), treaty being
drafted by the OECD, (Organization for Economic Cooperation and
Development)?
