Emma Bonino has sent me a copy of your letter (September 5). It was very interesting for me to learn all the initiatives you have undertaken on the question of linguistic communication and non-communication and linguistic equality.

The Transnational Radical Party, whose I'm the general secretary has the question of esperanto (and linguistic democracy) among its main priorities (the other are the establishment of an International Criminal Court and of a worldwide moratorium on death penalty, the legalization of drugs, the democracy for China and the freedom for Tibet).

On the question of esperanto we are pressing at the moment in two directions: at the Ecosoc of the United Nations and at the European Parliament. In the EP, we have prepared, with my colleague Gianfranco Dell'Alba, a text he has now submited to the Institutional Committee. We hope it will be soon put on the agenda. Please find enclosed a copy of this document.
