Dear Olivier,

I think the idea of a joint candidacy of Wei Jingsheng and Wang Dan is an interesting one...representing the Democracy Wall Movement and Tiananmen, as well as two generations.

It was for that reason, that members of the United States Congress made such a nomination this year,..unfortunately, without success.

Since we have been unsuccessful for the last three years, ! have bee racking my brain to see if there is something else that we can do, in addition to the nominations themselves, that might be helpful.

Unfortunately, the answer to that question is elusive,
