Dear friends from Europe,

The third European demonstration for the liberation of Tibet is to be held in Paris, on the 8th of March 1998. Following Mrs Yutok's initiative, Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Paris, we have launched "Tibet 98", in order to bring together all French associations involved in this country, yourselves, the European T.S. G, all of us determined to help Tibet. The political line of "Tibet 98", which, of course, is that of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, is. to obtain through peaceful negotiations with Pekin, freedom for Tibet. With the agreement of Mrs Yutok, we have therefore decided to elaborate a strong and clear press file, with two themes

- The truth about Tibet,

- What is the 1998 Tibet?

This file which will be at the disposal of each association, will help them to handle the me dias. Your suggestions are of curse most appreciated. For the demonstration of March 8, 1998, we naturally wish to be numerous and able to mobilize the medias. According to the wishes of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, it will be peaceful, both in its expression and in its spirit. We won't have any "folklore" other than Tibetan. To coordinate this event, we intend to organize a general assembly of the French and European T.S.G in Paris on Saturday, January 10, 1998, to which you are all welcome. Please let us know whether you'll be able to attend it. In order to add your strength to our, do send us your ideas and suggestions. As you know, Tibet is dying. Together, we can still save it. Under the yoke of their invader, millions of Tibetans, thousands of exiled ones keep faith in life and in their future. We must not fail them. We deeply thanks to all who have contributed towards the success of Brussels and Geneva events
