As you know this year, Paris will be hosting two important events for Tibet in the month of March - the 8th European Tibet Support Group (ETSG) conference on Saturday, March 7 and the 3rd European commemoration of March 10, 1959 on Sunday, March 8.

The 7th ETSG conference was held in Oslo in 1994 and was hosted by the Norwegian Tibet Committee. Thanks to your party's initiative in 1996, the European level commemoration of the Tibetan Peoples' Uprising has now become sort of a tradition. I am pleased to say that it will continue in 1998 in Paris.

Gathering in Paris for the weekend of March 7 & 8 will be Tibetans and friends of Tibet from many European countries including from the Tibetan Government in Exile, Mr. TC Tethong, Minister for International Affairs as well as other Representatives from the European Offices of Tibet and Deputies to our Parliament in Exile.

We would be honoured if you could join us in Paris for the weekend of March 7 & 8,1998.

On Saturday the 7th, the ETSG conference will be a full day followed with dinner. On Sunday the 8th, the commemoration will begin from Place du Trocadéro at 12:00 and end back at Place du Trocadéro at 16:00.
