Subject: UN human rights conference on Cuba
Dear Nikolai,
I was approached by Ricardo Bofill a few days ago. He told me about the Cuba human rights conference that is going to take place on April 4th, 1998, in Geneva, Switzerland. It is going to be a great event in which many organizations are already participating. There will be people from the Cuban Committe for Human rights, Cuba Libera in Italy, Congresspeople from the U.S., the Nicaraguan Ambassador to the UN HR Commission, and many other speakers. It is very possible that I and other members of Free Cuba Foundation also travel to Geneva for the Conference.
I wanted to ask you two things: 1) Is there a possibility that you attend too; 2)Is there a possibility that the MP's you told me about (or our friends the HR activists) attend the event. We are very interested in seeing whether a representation from the Russian friends of the Romero campaign could attend the Conference. Basically, you would be talking about the Romero campaign and your views from Russia of the Cuban situation.
Please observe this option and tell me what do you think about it.
Cordially,
Xavier Utset.
Cordially,
H. XPAMOB
