Re: Web page

from: gbisaga@mitre.org

On your web page you state:

"Recalling article 3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which affirms the right of everyone to life, article 6 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and articles 6 and 37 (a) of the Convention on the Rights of the Child..." I take it then that this means you are in support of outlawing abortion, since in abortion you have a situation of people (unborn children) being deprived of their "universal ... right .. to life." For this I congratulate you. As I'm sure you know, in some countries (like Communist China) you even have the state forcing people to kill their babies against the will of the parents. I would request that you please make your support of outlawing abortion more clear in your party's set of beliefs. This would let people know that you are truly what you say, in favor of the fundamental right of life for every person. Unfortunately, as you no doubt know, some people take the completely untenable position of being in favor of right to life, except in the case of ab

ortion. How some people can hold this position is beyond me, especially since the child's life is being terminated simply because his or her life would be inconvenient to the parents. What is even more puzzling, of course, is that some of these people who are in favor of abortion also favor outlawing the death penalty. At least in the case of the death penalty, the person is fairly judged to be guilty of a heinous and extreme act such as murder. Thus, it could be stated that the condemned person is guilty of a heinous crime against society and only the death penalty can possibly supply the required punishment. In the case of killing unborn babies, of course, they can make no such argument. The baby is completely innocent, only "guilty" of pursuing their own universal right of life. Anyway, thank you for your bold stand in favor of life. I look forward to seeing you support the right of life for the unborn on your web pages in the future.
