As a hemp activist, and a person who lived in Yugoslavia for 1 year, my last trip ending last week, sept. 7th '98, I would like to inform you that like the drug war, the news you're being fed on Yugoslavia is BS. The Serbs are not the evil demonic people our news portrays them as. Infact, the Serbs were Americas strongest allies for two world wars against German and Italian forces without which, Europe would be under German/Italian control today. Let us not forget it was because of the Serbs that Germany had to redirect forces from Russia to the Balkans to fight the Serbs that cost the Nazis the war.

Yes (some) Serbs have committed war crimes, but the Serbs regardless of what TV tells you are NOT the agressors in the current situation. Yes Milosevic is corrupt to the bone, NO most Serbs do not support him. As for war crimes, Bosnian President and American proclaimed hero Alija Izetbegovic was found guilty after WWII for war crimes against American Soldiers and Serbs. Mr. Izetbegovic was the recruter for the Nazi's 13 Hanjar (hanjar is Turkish meaning to slice the throat) division of Muslims in Bosnia. A special Nazi task force in Bosnia to kill Serbs. The Croatian Ustashe along with the Bosnian hanjar helped Germany/Italy kill over 700,000 Serbs, the second most persecuted people in the war next to jews, Gypsies were third. The Albanian Balije were also Nazi sympathizers and helped kill literally thousands of Serbs. Over the last 30 years in the Kosovo Region, the Albanians immigrants purged 300,000-500,000 Serbs from the Kosovo area. Under President Tito, died '82, forbid Serbs who fled Kosovo to retu

rn. Tito was a croat, and many believe that he was planning the current situation by promoting Albanian immigrtion at the time while forbiding Serb return. Western media forgets the last thirty years of history while only saying the Serbs purged 150,000 Kosovars in the current situation. The 10-1 ratio of Albanians in Kosovo to Serbs is not an accurate estimate by any means. For one, we must forget about the Serbs who were forced to flee Kosovo for fear of loosing their lives over the past 30 years, but not only that it leaves out the HUGE Romie (Gypsie) population, not to mention the Bulgarians, Romanians and Russians living in the Area. The Albanian controlled gov. (placed by Tito) of Kosovo prevented Serbs from holding jobs over the last 15-20 years. Controlled all aspects of gov, and we are to believe that a population of Albanians out numbering Serbs 10-1 were being smashed by this small (minority) Serb population. The figures just don't add up. Albanians students and gov in Kosovo even demanded that

the Serbs fund Schools and Universities taught in Albanian. To place a comparison, the US just outlawed multilingual education for a "so-called" minority population of Latinos who we stole this land from 100 years ago.

As for Kosovo being Albanian Teritory before the formation of Yugoslavia, yes it was, under the Ottoman-Turkish empire who stole the land from the Serbs in the 1400's. Kosovo was the Center of the Serbian Kingdom before the Turks conquered and slaughtered their way through Europe. The Serbian Kindom streched from 100 kilometers north of Athens, Greece to just short of the Slovenian border, it even included 90% of current Albania around 1350. As for Serb rape camps portrayed in the American media, yes there may have been instances of private parties doing horrible things. As there was Croat and Bosnian Muslim....such is war. But only the cases where Serbs are involved get reported. Most crimes by Serbs during the war were actually commited by Serbian mafia boss "Arkon" Zeljko Raznatovic and his private 2-5000 member army...Western media used his actions to condemn all Serbs. That's because the American Gov. doesn't want to get caught red handed funding the Ustashe, Hanjar, and Balije as they are doing. But

in instances portrayed in the American Media are untrue. The Bosnian Muslim woman we were all told a few years ago in the NYT that had her baby at the hands of Serb rape camps is immposible. The Baby was full term...If the baby was full term, then the baby was concieved two months before the war even started.

America and Germany have large special interests in destroying and defaming the Serbs. Not only is YU one of the most fertile places in Europe, but it's also the most strategic.

After living there for 3 months at a time for 4 consecutive years, I have learned that if I want to know te truth about the war I either listen to Dave Emory, or I flip everything the Americans media says backwards.

Yes Milosevic should be indicted for crimes.....Crimes against his own people. Not for the missinformation against Serbs distributed about Serbs in Western media.

JESSE JACKSON and GEORGE WALLACE JR. are debating on CNN today (rerun from 96) what is RACISM. GEORGE JR thinks his father was never racist(just a segregationist) because he always meant well. this is one of the key lessons of THE ROOTS OF EVIL - that MASS EVIL is always done in the name of good. of course the opposition thinks that we are as EVIL as we know the DRUG WAR to be. DRUGISM has now replaced RACISM as the justification for torture, incarceration, and enslavement. keep the faith rev.
