To the attention of Mr Hadar Cars
Member of the European Parliament

Dear Hadar,
Here next I send you a copy of the letter that I and Gianfranco Dell'Alba have sent to the Swedish Foreign Affairs Minister concerning the case of Albin Kurti and his friend Adil Vokkri.
At the same time we are also trying to do something for Prof. Ukshin Hoti, one of the most prominent intellectuals from Kosovo and a long standing opponent to Milosevic. Prof. Hoti was nominated this year to the Sakharov Prize.
As far as we know he was held in the Dubrova prison close by the town of Istok in Kosovo, a prison which has already been targeted during the air strikes last week. He could have been transfered in the last hours from Dubrova to a jail in Belgrade. But the news have still to be confirmed.
His five years sentence expired on Monday, May 17, and he could be released any time. Of course, in the current circumstances, his release and his stay in Kosovo or in Serbia without protection would expose him to a greater danger for his life.
The best solution for him would be to reach his family, who has now moved to Macedonia.
I would be very grateful for any kind of help you could provide.
Friendly yours and best regards,
Olivier
