Re: working for TRP/answer

To: muratore@un.org

Dear Mr. Muratore,

I am sending you today by mail to your address in Geneva some materials about the Transnational Radical Party. I hope you will receive it in time.

As for the organisational structure, we have main offices in Rome, Brussels, New York and Moscow. Moreover, we have some small "points of reference" in several other countries (Albania, Croatia, Hungary, Spain, France,...) and cities - mainly in Italy (Florence, Milan, Neaples,...).

The office in Rome is the seat for both transnational and Italian radicals and their campaigns and activities. The office in Brussels is the main seat for the "transnationals" and for the radical deputies of the European Parliament, whose number will now increase given the recent success of Lista Bonino in European elections.

As you probably know, the TRP has obtained in 1995 the general consultative status with the ECOSOC, therefore it participates in the sessions of some UN bodies in Geneva, New York and Vienna, and otherwise provides some contribution to activities of the UN.

I hope that you will understand more about the areas of interest of TRP from the materials I am sending you. The TRP is obviously the "transnational and transparty child" of Italian radicals that, I presume, you know quite well. As such, it does not take part in any elections, and its Congress decides about the main campaigns to be undertaken. Recently, the main campaign are: ratification of the Statute and starting of activities of the International Criminal Court, universal moratorium on capital executions and abolition of the death penalty, antiprohibition of drugs, freedom of Tibet and democracy in China and recognition of esperanto as the universal "bridge" language.

Apart from these pretty ambitious campaigns, we are, as you can imagine, engaged in a number of other issues and problems, as they arise (Yugoslavia and Kosovo, Macedonia, Iraq, Tunisia, Cuba, North Korea, Congo, the need of European Civil and Military Corps, reform of the UN, ....).

I hope, Mr. Muratore, that I succeeded to answer at least partly to your question. If you will have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. And if you are seriously interested in working for the TRP, please let me know your plans and I will transmit it to Mr. Dupuis (current secretary of the TRP and Member of European Parliament), and Mr. Cappato (current co-ordinator of radicals for liberal revolution and United States of Europe).

Yours sincerely,

Olga Cechurova
