I am writing a history book. On the subject of 'soapbox oratory' (Free Speech)

The type of oratory still seen in London's speakers corner Hyde Park.

In my book I write about oratory in Rome. About the Roman Forum and Cicero. About the talking statues 'Pasquino' and 'Babuino'

Marco Pannella spoke in the street of Rome in political meeting. I believe that he is an orator that has in one life time spoken from soapbox to international Television. I would like to up date my information about him. Is he still a member of the European Parliament? and what are his resent political activity?

I would also like to know this thoughts on soapbox oratory?
