Dear Mr. Dupuis,

I am pleased to respond to your communication of September 6, 1999, requesting information on our intent to adhere to the Rome Treaty.

The Government of the Federated States of Micronesia supports the principles of the Rome Treaty, however before we can make any decision to ratify, we must first go through our own internal regulations on ratification. At this point in time, it is not possible to give you an exact date when the Federated States of Micronesia will ratify the Rome Treaty.
