I refer to your letter of the 18th October and, in particular, to your interest in knowing whether the Maltese Government is preparing for ratification of the Statute of the

international Criminal Court.

I take this opportunity to inform you that the question of ratification of this Statute is on the Maltese Government's agenda. The proposed amendments to local legislation, which are being considered, will in due course have to be passed through Parliament to make

ratification possible.
