A P P E A L

Dear friends,

During centuries lots of wars happened on the Chechen land, they carried away millions of lives and inflicted innumerable damage and brought sufferings and sorrow. As a result the Chechen people became a nation small in number but courageous and firm, the nation which, having experienced all the burdens of war, has not become embittered and has never been an aggressor but only protected itself, its land, honour and freedom from foreign aggressors. The Chechen nation and other Caucasian nations were always wanted to live in peace and friendship with all nations of the world. The WORLD PEACE MARCH FOR THE PEACEFUL AND FREE CAUCASUS, declared by the International Committee for Human Rights of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria on September 6, 1999, which has been supported by the Chechen people, is a proof to it. The WORLD PEACE MARCH is interethnical movement of the Caucasian nations for peace and friendship with all nations of the world.

The purpose of a march: propagandize in the different countries of the world the peaceful initiatives of the organizers of a World Peace March for the resolution of the Chechen problem and conflicts in the Caucasian region, for prevention of the Caucasian war.

The World Peace March will begin approximately in middle of December, 1999, in Tbilisi. Route of a march we shall specify during a march: a march will pass those countries, where will let the participants of the action.

We call all International Human Rights NGOs, the Council of Europe, the United Nations, International Mass-Media and all people of good will of the world to render every kind of support and assistance to the WORLD PEACE MARCH FOR THE PEACEFUL AND FREE CAUCASUS, to participate in this important action.
