Status consultivo: memberi dell'Economic and Social Council

Members

The Economic and Social Council is a principal organ of he United Nations (art. 7 of the UN Charter). It is composed by 54 members elected for a period of three years. Seats on the Council are allotted based on geographical representation with 14 allocated to African States, 11 to Asian States, 6 to Eastern Europeans, 10 to Latin American and Caribbean States, and 13 to Western European and other States.

The name of each member and the expiration date of membership is reported in the following list:

African States:

Algeria (2000), Burkina Faso (2002), Angola (2002), Benin (2002), Cameroon (2002), Comoros (2000), D. Rep. Of Congo (2001), Guinea Bissau (2001), Lesotho (2000), Mauritius (2000), Morocco (2001), Rwanda (2001), Sierra Leone (2000), Sudan (2002).

Asian States:

Bahrain (2002), China (2001), Fiji (2002), India (2000), Indonesia (2001), Japan (2002), Oman (2000), Pakistan (2000), Saudi Arabia (2001), Syria (2001), Vietnam (2000).

Eastern European States:

Belarus (2000), Bulgaria (2000), Croatia (2002), Poland (2000), Russian Federation (2001).

Latin American and Caribbean States:

Bolivia (2001), Brazil (2000), Costa Rica (2002), Colombia (2000), Cuba (2002), Honduras (2001), Mexico (2002), Saint Lucia (2000), Suriname (2002), Venezuela (2001).

Western European and Other States:
