Dear Mr. PerDuca,

the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations met from the 12-23 June 2000 and reviewed the complaint by the Russian Federation against the Transnational Radical Party. The Committee also reviewed the response submitted by your organization and considered the oral presentation and response to questions posed to the TRP representative.

After careful review, the Committee decided to recommend the suspension of ECOSOC status of the Transnational Radical Party for 3 years in accordance with paragraph 55 of ECOSOC Resolution 1996/31 further to the complaint of the Russian Federation dated may 2000, copy attached.

A copy of the report of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations (pat II) will be sent to you as soon as it is circulated in its draft form. It will contain and constitute the written reasons for the Committee's recommendation to the ECOSOC regarding your consultative status. The final document will contain no substantive changes from the draft.

Please note that the Economic and Social Council will consider and take action on the Committee's recommendation at its forthcoming session, which is tentatively scheduled for 27 July 2000.
