Dear Christobel,

First of all let me thank you for your call and for your personal offer to help the Transnational Radical Party in our campaign to defend the right of all NGOs' to speak at the UN. I am pleased to attach the text of the international appeal that has already been endorsed by many political dissidents from all over the world, who have also decided to join the TRP.

While I am writing to you, the situation we understand that there will be not see any final decision in this July session of the Economic and Social Council (Ecosoc) and that the issue will be deferred to the October session. This remains a dangerous situation because the Russian Federation and Cuba will request a temporary suspension of our consultative status until Ecosoc will take its definitive decision.

For all these reasons we have launched an extraordinary membership campaign and we are asking to individuals as well asto organizations like yours to join this campaign because we know that the support of the so called "global civil society" is essential to win this battle for the freedom of expression and the right to speak at the UN.
