I am writing on behalf of all the members of the Transnational Radical Party to express our sincere thanks for the concrete support which you gave us, together with dozens of other well-known international figures, by deciding to join the party at a time when the campaign launched and orchestrated by the Russian Federation for the expulsion of the TRP from the United Nations was in full flow, and when it seemed that the relevant organs of the UN were about to endorse the Russian proposal.

It is partly thanks to your adhesion and support that the attack against us, and by extension against freedom of expression within the United Nations, was repelled.

It is thus with great pleasure that I enclose your Transnational Radical Party membership card for the year 2000. At the same time I hope you will forgive us for the culpable delay.

In the hope that we will be united in the future by other battles for the defence and promotion of freedom, democracy and the rule of law throughout the world, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again.
