By Marco PannellaABSTRACT: The Atlantic Pact countries concur in the government set-ups of the Warsaw Pact countries and in the policy of annihilation by hunger and war. The Radical members of parliament are excluded from the Italian and European missions to the U.N. on the occasion of the assembly for the third decade of the war against hunger. The Polish Embassy denies a visa to Pannella and Macciocchi while granting it in five minutes to journalists and photographers.

Jacoviello is right. Just as the "liberal and democratic" West chose Mussolini over Sforza, Sturzo, Salvemini, Rosselli - as well as Croce, Gramsci and Terracini; just as Churchill said that if he were Italian he would be a Fascist; just as the French Popular Front allowed the Republican Spaniards to be wiped out by Nazi aircraft and the troops of Mussolini and Bonaccorsi; just as at Munich the French betrayal of Poland and the Sudetenland was sanctioned; just as economic sanctions were imposed only to reveal their inefficacy, or better, their economic disadvantages; just as Stalin chose a tactical and historical alliance with Hitler while sending assassins to murder Trotsky and exterminating whole populations and the entire General Staff of the October Revolution; just as the French Communists for weeks advocated non-resistance to the Nazi invaders because this was a clash among "capitalists" in accordance with the orders of the Third International which counted Togliatti among its top leaders; so toda
y the countries of the Atlantic Pact, with the USA and its Italian appendage among the first, concur with the "governing set-ups" in the Warsaw Pact countries.
In Italy the sacred liberal and democratic flame seems, in fact, to resist combustion like wet straw. Certainly yesterday the unions consented to our request and decided to send a delegation to Poland. But no one, absolutely no one, revealed that "L'Unità" [the official Communist daily] immediately called this decision "bizarre". Better for the wind-bags and others to chatter about Pajetta (1) and about Pietro Ingrao (2), that old theologian of consociational democratic life in national unity for authentic Communism. Our Socialist comrades too often mistake attitude-striking, demeanour, with seriousness and a sense of statesmanship and politics. Even friend Baget-Bozzo is useful for making one note that many of those (but who, exactly?) ready to "die for Danzig" did not die yesterday for Bolivia: thus we can continue to "live" serenely in any case since one cannot "die" more than once.
The same thing is happening for the annihilation in progress of 40 million people from starvation. In fact, by unanimous decision, the Radicals - who are guilty of at least having brought it to attention - have been excluded from the Italian Parliamentary delegation that is going to the U.N. the day after tomorrow for the third decade of the "fight against hunger" under the guidance of the Andreotti squad. And in Paris Simone Veil has decided to exclude - she too - the only representative of our group, one in nine, from the European Parliament's delegation. Meanwhile the Polish Embassy in Rome grants visas to photographers and journalists but for three days has refused to grant one to M.A. Macciocchi and me. The assassins are consistent in their behaviour.
("Jacovelli, Sforza, Sturzo, Salvemini, Rosselli, Croce, Gramsci, Terracini, Mussolini, Churchill, Bonaccorsi, Munich, Poland, the Sudetenland, Stalin, Hitler, Trotsky, the General Staff, October, the Third International, Togliatti, the Atlantic Pact, USA, the Warsaw Pact, "L'Unità", Pajetta, Ingrao, Baget-Bozzo (our friend), Danzig, Bolivia, the U.N., Andreotti, Paris, Veil, Rome, Macciocchi and me. And what is it?
"Marilyn Monroe, Landru, Brel, Brest, Braque, Bronson and Bruyère. Ville Lumiere. De Gaulle. Boll and Small (Faces).
"What kind of language is this that Pannella is using?
"The West not on fire? That's true. Are the blocks in a fury? Very true. But your language Pannella, your language! What will we call the "assassins", rigorous because they delay a visa, if they should happen to kill someone?
"Monsters? Devils? Anti-popes? Communists, or what?")
