(RADICAL NEWS, 30 August 1980)
Rome, 30 August 1980 - R.N. - The allegations which "Radical News" has published these days in relation to the complicities which the "mad" colonel of Libya, Gaddafi, supposedly has in Italy, will (hopefully) be discussed in Parliament. The promoters of the initiative are the radical members of Parliament Roberto Cicciomessere, Emma Bonino and Mauro Mellini, who posed the question to the Prime Minister Cossiga and to the ministers of the interior, of foreign affairs and of justice.
In particular, the radical members of Parliament ask whether the news published by the press agency "Radical News" in the editions of 28 and 29 August regarding the complicities of the Italian judicial authorities with the Libyan government, are true.
In particular, the radicals as to know whether it is true that:
1) Mr Jousseff Msallata, arrested by the Italian police on 19 April in relation to the assassination at the Café de Paris of the Libyan citizens Abdul Aref, now lives in Bengasi, after having been welcomed by President Gaddafi as a "hero of the homeland";
2) Not all the 7 Libyan citizens arrested in Italy as of April of last year in relation to the assassination of Libyan exiles are in prison;
3) The list of Libyan dissidents and exiles living in Italy has been given to the Libyan government by one of the Italian security services;
4) The coordination of the activity of the Libyan "killers" in Italy is carried out by the head of an import-export business who enjoys particular protection by the Italian authorities;
5) Libyan exiles or dissidents have been placed by force on aircraft of the "Libyan Airlines" with destination Tripoli, with the complicity of the police authorities of the Italian airports; that Libyan exiles transiting in Italian airports have been denied the transit visa and placed by force on aircraft with destination Libya.
The radical parliamentarians ask to know "whether the government deems appropriate in any case to open an investigation on the activities of the Libyan government in Italy, and whether it is still willing, as in the past, to violate the principles of internal and international law to avoid a deterioration in the commercial relations with Libya. Lastly, they ask whether the Italian government "intends to propose an international intervention at at the level of the EEC and of the United Nations, on the homicidal activity of Libyan citizens abroad, which seem to be masterminded or endorsed by the Libyan government".
