ABSTRACT: Rome, 13 October - The Radical Party's Federal Council, met to discuss the agenda of the congress scheduled to open in Rome on 31 October 1991, deliberated unanimously, on the proposal of the secretary ,Roberto Cicciomessere, to promote a popular petition to ask Parliament to "enact all initiatives in its power to urge Foreign Minister Andreotti to resign from his office in the government". The Federal Council unanimously passed the following document").

The Radical Party's Federal Council, following these days' events, which are highlighting the deep connivances and political and institutional complicities aimed at not finding, protecting and covering the responsibilities of the protagonists of the occult affairs which have marked, characterized and polluted the life of the Republic;

1) Urges and requests an immediate parliamentary debate on the findings of the committee of inquiry on the P2, which currently represents the only instrument and the only test-bed to prevent that quest for truth and that ascertainment of the responsibilities, which the public opinion and the very credibility of the institutions call for, from being dodged and covered up.

2) Deliberates the collection of signatures for a popular petition for the immediate resignation from his office in the government of the Foreign Minister Giulio Andreotti, involved in the Sindona case, in the P2 affair and in several regime scandals.

3) Urges and requests the parliamentary debate on the report of the parliamentary committee for security services on the "Cirillo case" and the establishment of a parliamentary committee of inquiry to ascertain the political responsibilities of the initiatives of the Services which cannot be ascribed to imaginary "parallel structures", immune from relations, influences, plots and directives of the politicians.

4) Rejects the slanders and the innuendos whereby leaders of the Communist Party, under this aspects still faithful to a Stalinist method and praxis, try to justify behaviours and choices which have lead to the direct and explicit rescue of the Foreign Minister and to the loss of a historical occasion for an operation of reclamation and cleaning up of the State.

Charges the party's executive organs with the task of taking initiatives (including judicial ones) to defend the truth and the respectability of the Radical Party faced to the innuendos contained in the current editorial of the editor of "L'Unità".
