(Written by Mihnea Berindei and Ariadna Combes and presented by Antonio Stango)ABSTRACT: Motion in defence of Human Rights in Romania adopted as a recommendation by the Radical Party's Federal Council, Rome 1st - 5th September 1989.
- Given the difficulty in distributing and circulating correct and adequate information on the Radical Party in Romania,
And given the difficulty in establishing and maintaining contacts made with the Romanians,
WE PROPOSE THE FOLLOWING:
- An improved quality of information on the actions and activities of the Party, particularly as regards its transnational character and its commitments in the Eastern European countries. We refer in particular to radio broadcasts in Romania (Radio Free Europe, the B.B.C., the Voice of America, etc.). We shall guarantee this information, AND We shall also attempt to distribute the RADICAL PARTY BULLETIN and other texts in Romania, using our own channels.
- The "adopting" as co-opted members--honorary member, or some other version--of Romanian dissidents who through their writings or activities appear to approach the ideas and ideals of the Radical Party. This action would assure, on the one hand, a real presence of the Party in Romania and, on the other, possible transnational support there.
