ABSTRACT. Full text of the inquiry presented by Lorenzo Strik Lievers and other members of Reformers Group to Italian Parliament about the recent attack against Nikolaj Khramov in Moscow.

Lorenzo Strik Lievers and other members of Reformers Group presented a written inquiry in Italy to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs concerning the recent attack against a Radical Party's coordinator in Moscow. His assailtants - blocked and questioned by local police - have been released after one of them introduced himself as an official of the local Department of Internal Affair. The inquiry to the Italian Parliament also refers to the very grave episode of last year murder of the Radical Party's Italian executive Andrea Tamburi in Moscow -- a murder that local police has tried for a long time to disguise as a car accident.

WRITTEN INQUIRY TO THE PRIME MINISTER AND THE MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS.

Foreword:

- In Moscow, on the night of April 24-25 1995, Nikolaj Khramov, Russian citizen and coordinator of the Transnational Radical Party, has been attacked and seriously injured to his head by three unknown people, while he was entering his home after a meeting at the Party's office;

- His assailtants, initially blocked by police, have been released right after one of them introduced himself as an official of the Minister of Interior services;

- This event follows the Moscow murder on February 27, 1994 of another executive member of the Radical Party, the Italian Andrea Tamburi -- an very grave event which has still several unclear aspects:

a) for three days, from the night Mr.Tamburi was found injured in the street (carrying his own ID) until his death in a Moscow hospital, local authorithies denied he was ever brought in any city hospital;

b) later on, police officials tried in any way to prove that Mr. Tamburi had been a victim of a car accident;

c) the autopsy (made in Italy) led local authorities to exclude the circumstance of an accident, and Bruno Maresca, a Florence Prosecutor, opened an investigation for murder, also forwarding a series of specific to Moscow authorities;

d) due to information received from Mr. Maresca, Russian officials rejected a proposed dismissal of the case and ordered further investigations;

- The Radical Party is a political transnational organization founded and based in Italy with members worldwide, and whose activists and executives are mostly Italians, including some of them working as coordinators in Russia;

Questions:

1) whether the Italian Government will take the initiative to push the Russian government for a full disclosure of the latest event, also asking for an investigation about a possibile organized conspiracy against the Radical Party to stop its activities and diffusion in Russia;

2) what happened to the request by Prosecutor Maresca to Moscow authorithies for an official meeting to obtain more information on Mr. Tamburi case.
