(Moscow, February 23) - The mourning wreath to all the victims of militarism from Stalin to gen. Grachev has been laid down to the Eternal Fire on the Grave of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin Wall by the activists of the Anti-militarist Radical Association (ARA). There were about 20 militants of ARA participating in this action, including secretary of ARA Nikolaj Khramov. Earlier this morning president Yeltsin and other high ranked officials laid their wreaths to the Eternal Fire, so that the ARA's wreath with black ribbons and inscription "To all the victims of militarism" has been placed just in the center of monument, exactly between the three-coloured official wreaths of President and Government.
The day of February 23 is being officially celebrated in the USSR/Russia since 1918 as "The Soviet Army Day", recently renamed into "Fatherland Defender's Day".
