(Moscow, October 17, 1997) -- On the 25 of June ARA Secretary Nikolaj Khramov delivered to Prosecutor-General Jurij Skuratov an official statement of claim in which he demanded to carry out a prosecutor's examination of the appeal of general Lev Rokhlin to the troops. (General Rokhlin called the army to disobedience.) In his claim Khramov considered the actions of Rokhlin a deed classified in article 278 of the Criminal Code ("armed revolt"), with reference to article 30 ("preparing a crime") and article 33 ("instigation"). Till now Nikolaj Khramov has not received any answer.

A month ago, on the 17 of September, ARA militants held a manifestation at the Office of Prosecutor-General. During this manifestation nearly 40 analogous claims were delivered to Prosecutor-General.

Today all ARA members who took part in that action received a written notification from the Office of Chief Military Prosecutor. The notification dated the 8 October and signed by the Senior Military Prosecutor Cherenkov of the First department of the Office of the Chief Military Prosecutor informs that the claim against the appeal of general Rokhlin to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief President of Russia and to all military personnel has been considered. Now the Office of Chief Military Prosecutor examines Rokhlin's appeal.
