Urgent!!

Lazaros Petromelidis, 35 year old member of SCI, married and father of one

child, has been arrested today.

When he went to the police station to get the certificate that he has never

asked for a licence to have a gun (which is necessary if you want to apply

for CO status according to the nex law) and was arrested on the spot.

This seems to be the new strategy of the Greek authorities, Thanasis Makris

has been threatened last week, Nikos Karanikas is trailed again... They have

been COs before the new law and are still being prosecuted for disobedience

to military orders or desertion.

Reminder: The right to conscientious objection is recognized in Greece since

July 1997!!
