"NATO, WE ARE WITH YOU!": KHRAMOV, BOROVOI AND NOVODVORSKAYA
UNDER THE STARS AND STRIPES AT THE AMERICAN EMBASSY
Moscow, March 28. A few hours after the firing of the American
Embassy in Novinskii boulevard by unknown individuals, Nikolai
Khramov, Konstantin Borovoi and Valeria Novodvorskaya held at
the Embassy of the USA a manifestation of solidarity with the
NATO actions in Yugoslavia - they came to the Embassy building
in a car, rose the Stars and Stripes flag and a slogan "NATO,
we are with you!". The militia intervened immediately asking
the demonstrators to stop and to go away.
The declaration of the participants in this action says:
"We have carried out this action in order to demonstrate our
solidarity with the actions of America and the other NATO
members in the ex-Yugoslavia <...> We also did it to make our
protest as Russian citizens against the anti-American, anti-
Western campaign, launched by the communist Primakov government
and by the Russian mass-media, against the outrage of the red-
brown pogrom-makers at the American Embassy, against the real
impenetrability of the information blockade, against those who
do not want to join the united anti-American chorus of fascists
and communists and, alas, against the majority of the so-called
"democrats". At the same time, we declare once again that it is
impossible to solve the problem of Milosevic by military means
only. The nationalist-communist Belgrade regime is to be
overthrown. To do this, it is necessary to come to the official
incrimination of Milosevic by the Hague Tribunal for the war
crimes and the crimes against the humanity, having been
committed according to his directions and under his leadership
since 1991".
KONSTANTIN BOROVOI JOINS THE RADICAL PARTY AND THE ARA
Moscow, March 28. Konstantin Borovoi, President of the
Economical Freedom Party and Duma deputy, in 1999 joined the
Radical Party and the ARA. In his declaration he explained his
decision: "I always supported all the initiatives of the
Transnational Radical Party for the freedom, for the lawful
state, against communist regimes in Peking, Belgrade and
anywhere in the world. Today I decided to join the Radical
Party and its Antimilitarist Association, acting in Russia,
first of all, because of its firm position of supporting the
last NATO military action aimed to stop the genocide carried
out by the Serb regime in Kosovo".
A NON-VIOLENT ACTION FOR THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ABOUT
KOSOVO EVENTS
Moscow, April 1. At the press-conference in the National Press
Institute with the participation of Nikolai Khramov, Valeria
Novodvorskaya and the ex-Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Fedor
Shelov-Kovedyaev, Konstantin Borovoi declared that he was going
on hunger-strike for the right of the Russian citizens to an
objective information about Kosovo events, against the "real
information war" unleashed by the regime against the Russian
citizens. Nikolai Khramov declared that he was going to join
the hunger-strike and called the members and the adherents of
the Radical Party and of the ARA to do the same.
INFORMATION BLOCKADE RUN
Moscow, April 4. These were the words pronounced by Konstantin
Borovoi after the NTV news programme "Itogi" about the
situation in Yugoslavia. In his declaration Borovoi announced
that he stopped his hunger-strike and thanked all his radical
comrades, all the citizens ready to support a non-violent
initiative for the freedom of information; he also asked them
not to begin the relay hunger-strike, planned earlier.
"Now our object is to develop our offensive, to continue doing
everything possible for the soonest incrimination of Milosevic
by the Hague Tribunal and to fight that the two per cent of
Russian people, who understand what is really going on in
Yugoslavia and approve the NATO actions, could become an
important public opinion factor in our country, - Borovoi
declared. - Within the next few days and hours we have to
concentrate our forces in order to break the other sectors of
the information front".
FOR THE SECOND TIME THE RADICAL PARTY PRESENTS AT THE UN A
DOCUMENT ABOUT THE CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTION IN RUSSIA
Geneva, April 4. At the 55-the session of the UN Human Rights
Commission in Geneva the Transnational Radical Party
(registered at the UN as an NGO with category I consultative
status) once again, as it did last year, presented an official
written statement on the situation in the field of
conscientious objection in the Russian Federation.
AUTHORITIES BAN THE RADICAL DEMONSTRATION OF SOLIDARITY WITH
THE NATO ACTIONS AGAINST MILOSEVIC
Moscow, April 5. The municipal authorities banned the
manifestation of solidarity with the NATO actions in Yugoslavia
which the Radical Party planned to hold near the television
centre "Ostankino" on the 8-th of April. The authorities
declared that the radical action would contradict the
Declaration of rights and freedoms of man and citizen.
"This decision - declared the Secretary of the ARA
Nikolai Khramov - is a notable example of the practical results
of the soviet "Ministry of Truth" activity these days. The
whole week it has been encouraging the hooligan outrages of
fascists and communists at the American Embassy (as well as in
the State Duma), kindling the anti-American hatred and
xenophobia in the Russian society and menacing at the highest
level <...> to begin a nuclear war against the Western
democracies; at the same time the authorities ban the
manifestation of the Radical Party for the indictment of the
war criminal number one Slobodan Milosevic, a manifestation of
solidarity with the NATO actions, against violence and genocide
of Albanians in Kosovo - under the plea that the Radical
Party... kindles hatred and propagandises violence and war! One
can hardly imagine a greater cynicism!"
RIGHT-DEFENDANTS IN RYAZAN' CONDEMN RUSSIAN POLICY IN
YUGOSLAVIA
Sasovo (Ryazan' Region), April 5. The right-defence centre
"Vybor Sovesti" ("The choice of conscience") in Sasovo
positively condemned the official Russian policy of "double
standards" concerning the crises in Yugoslavia. The Centre
asked the executive and the representative powers of the
Russian Federation to condemn the genocide of Kosovars being
carried out by Milosevic regime and to send humanitarian aid
for the Albanian refugees.
CONSTITUTIONAL DEMOCRATS REGARD "WITH UNDERSTANDING" THE NATO
ACTIONS IN YUGOSLAVIA
Moscow, April 6. The Political Committee of Constitutional
Democrats adopted the following declaration: "The Party of
Constitutional Democrats regards with understanding the NATO
actions concerning the crisis in Kosovo. We realise that today
some kind of power pressure is the only way to stop genocide in
Kosovo and to guarantee human rights in the region. Those who
with an impetuous ardour defend today the interests of the Serb
population in the face of the NATO "aggression" would better
propose a realistic way to stop various Miloscevices".
Constitutional Democrats condemn the "half-way policy" of NATO
and support a ground military operation in Kosovo.

DE GENOCIDE - AUT BENE AUT NIHIL
Evgeniya Al'baz
Gazeta.Ru

The war in Yugoslavia "examined" both Russian politicians
and the Russian press. With a heavy heart we have to recognise:
neither the politicians nor the press standed the test.
The Russian politicians - from the leftists till the
liberals - amicably united in condemning NATO (and in this, I
think, they are right), but did not say a word about the
nightmare that Serbs have brought about and continue bringing
about in Kosovo. All of them were amicably frightened.
All of them amicably wanted to please the crowd. No one
of them dared to say that in Yugoslavia apart from the
brothers-Slavs there are also brothers-Albanians and that
actually the Slavs are not brothers to all Russian people -
blood brothers or faith brothers and the Albanians are not
blood- brothers and faith-brothers to some Russian people, but
it is absolutely unimportant.
What can one say about Zyuganov and Lebed' ? It is all
clear with them. However, neither Yavlinskii nor Chubais nor
Gaidar - no one of those who had the access to the broadcast on
the television and on the radio, who appealed to the broad
audience, allowed himself to pronounce: "Milosevic acts with
the Albanians (earlier - with the Bosnians and the Croatians)
as Hitler did with the Jews". They know nothing about it? Bosh!
They all know about it, but they worry about their electorate:
what if the electorate, happy in its patriotic hysteria, thinks
that they are enemies of the nation and of the country?
No one of them expressed in public his amazement
concerning the words of the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs
Igor' Ivanov when at a press-conference he explained such a
furious support of Serbs by the Russian authorities: "Why, do
you prefer the Islamic fundamentalism?" And in this way closed
the topic: well, you're clever guys, you must understand: the
Albanians - they're Muslims, they are not "our folk". No one of
our public politicians asked himself: "How can a man like Igor'
Ivanov, with similar mentality and similar political culture,
be a Minister of Foreign Affairs in a multinational country?"
On Sunday the same strategist gave an interview to "Zerkalo"
("The Mirror") programme - after the NTV (not the "Russian
Channel") showed the terrible shots of massacres in Kosovo -
and was not ashamed to say: "supposed ethnic purges of
Albanians in Kosovo". And the journalist Nikolai Svanidze did
not dare to ask him: "Supposed? Here is the film". I wonder how
did a non-Slavonic Svanidze feel in this moment as well as his
non-Slavonic chief Mikhail Shvydkoi? Did he feel like hiding
under a bed? Crying: "Not me, not me, I'm "our folk"..."?
On Friday I was shocked by the first-page photograph of
the "Moscow Times": an infinite column of Albanians, marching
along the railway. There are similar shots of Jews going along
the railway to Treblinka. One can hardly believe that fifty-six
years after the "definite solution of the Jew question" by
Hitler the same and in the same forms may be repeated in
Europe.
While watching what all our channels showed last week
(only on Friday the NTV began televising the reportings about
the refugees in Macedonia), I understood perfectly well: we all
have all chances to march in a similar column along a similar
railway. All of us - all "not our folks" - independently of the
holidays we celebrate - Ramadan, Peisakh or Easter.
Do not ask me why I - a professional journalist - will
not publish all this in the press. For I will answer you with a
question: "Where? Your advise?"
Internet is a powerful weapon. Why not try to collect
votes and signatures for the resignation of the Minister of
Foreign Affairs Igor' Ivanov for whom the ethnic purges in
Kosovo are "supposed"?
These shots of an amateur video were passed to the BBC by
an inhabitant of Velika Krusa village Milaim Bellanitsa, an
Albanian, whose fellow-villagers were shot by Serbs during the
ethnic purges a week ago. Bellanitsa hid himself from the
chastisers in a basement of a ruined house. Before leaving
Kosovo he came back to the place of the mass executions to
imprint the traces of the crimes. Together with the film
Bellanitsa passed to the BBC the names of his 26 fellow-
villagers, killed by the Serb chastisers in Velika Krusa.
Before showing this film on the British television some shots
were cut: the leadership of the company considered them '"too
cruel" for broadcasting on a national-wide channel.
