military service and the transition to the remanning of the

MILOSEVIC INCRIMINATION: "IF THE NEWS IS CONFIRMED, THIS MEANS
A GREAT SUCCESS"
Bologna, May 26. The Secretary of the Radical Party Olivier
Dupuis made the following declaration: "The news that Slobodan
Milosevic and other leaders of the Belgrade regime are
incriminated, if it's confirmed, means an important step
towards peace in the Balkans.
This decision is based on the principle of justice and not on a
fixed idea of Milosevic as a kind of deus ex machina, capable
to stop the war in Yugoslavia. For several years the radicals,
led by Marco Pannella and Emma Bonino, have been coming out for
the justice as regards the war criminals, first of all, as
regards Milosevic. After a successful international campaign
for the establishment of Tribunal ad hoc and of the
International Criminal Court, the radicals have collected more
than 200.000 signatures under the international appeal for the
incrimination of Milosevic. Last autumn a group of our experts-
jurists held an inquiry in the Balkans in order to unmask the
political culprits, responsible for the crimes. If the news of
Milosevic incrimination is confirmed, this means a great
success of all citizens, who try to find an effective solution
of the Balkan conflict together with the radicals.
As well as in the case of Karadzic and Mladic, the
incrimination of a responsible politician is very important, it
opens a way for the process of renewal both in Yugoslavia and
in the whole world. After the incrimination, there must be an
international arrest warrant and the arrest. Thus, the
international community must provide the conditions for the
realisation of justice as a necessary condition for peace. We
appeal to the Security Council, that in 1993 established the
Hague Tribunal, to charge the international forces to arrest
the people, accused by the Prosecutor Louise Arbour, and to put
an end to the crimes against the humanity, being committed in
Kosovo".
THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY AND NATO MUST GUARANTEE THE
SECURITY OF PRESIDENT SLOBODAN MILOSEVIC
Rome, May 31, 1999. In connection with the interview of the
Vice-Prosecutor of the Hague Tribunal Graham Blewitt to the
German weekly "Der Spiegel" in which Blewitt confirmed that the
Tribunal should do everything possible for the president
Milosevic to be arrested, sooner or later, the Secretary of the
Radical Party and European Parliament deputy Olivier Dupuis
made the following declaration:
"The international community and, first of all, NATO must take
every measure to provide the personal security of Milosevic and
of other people, accused by the International Criminal Court.
It's a condition sine qua non that sooner or later these people
will appear in court and that the trial will take place. It's
necessary for the triumph of justice as regards the people,
guilty of having committed the crimes in Kosovo, Bosnia,
Croatia. In the name of the victims of these crimes, in the
name of the citizens of the whole world who need a triumph of
justice and want to know the truth about all those who
supported both in Yugoslavia and in the world the nationalist-
communist regime of Milosevic - the regime that for ten years
has been carrying out a bloody racist policy that Europe hasn't
seen since the end of the Second World War".
