INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION 'ARTISTS WITHOUT FRONTIERS' ANNOUNCES THE WORLD WIDE POETS AND SINGERS COMPETITION : "YOU ARE NOT ALONE" TO MAKE THE PUBLIC OPINION SENSITIVE ABOUT AIDS

"YOU ARE NOT ALONE" IS AN INTERNATIONAL PROJECT: TEN THOUSAND OF THESE LETTERS ARE REACHING THE MASS MEDIA OF 85 NATIONS

"ARTISTS WITHOUT FRONTIERS" gives the opportunity to Poets and singers,both amateurs and professionals, of all the world, to partecipate sending a poem or song (together with relating text) about AIDS. If the text is not in English, you must attach an English translation of it. Performances must be recorded on a tape, preceded by a short introduction and a message addressed to listeners from all over the World. Most significant works, selected by a staff of Professional Artists and Producers, are brodcasted by transmitting stations in more than 85 Countries. These stations, partecipating to the spreading of such enterprise, will receive in change the best recordings arrived to "ARTISTS WITHOUT FRONTIERS" from all over the World.

Membership fee is free. Officially, the competition is going to start on 1st December 1992 and it has unlimited duration.

The recordings sent will not return. AWF is a completely self-financing association, thanks to the work and generosity of its members.

ARTISTS WITHOUT FRONTIERS is a non profit-making International Association, created to join Artists from all over the World, giving them the opportunities and means to achieve their objectives. Common love for Art in its most varied forms, joins our members, so that neither geographical barriers nor political or religious ones could separate them. Moreover, "Artists Without Frontiers" supports enterprises aimed to obtain rights and health for every Being.

Some information on "YOU ARE NOT ALONE" project: "YOU ARE NOT ALONE" has been designed on 1st February 1992 by G.Luca Zanna, AWF Founder President, in memory of one of his friend who died of AIDS. He created the Project working on a computer for more than 2400 hours. 42 people collaborated to the enterprise during the stage of development. In order to obtain information and data needed to realize "YOU ARE NOT ALONE", our staff made 6200 telephone calls, during the stage of planning. The total cost to complete the first stage of this operation is around 60.000 U.S.$.

This enterprise is dedicated to all those people suffering from AIDS and to all those who believe in dreams and in sacrificing themselves for their realization. The adventure is just started, you can contribute to its carrying on.
