Dear Mr. Governor,

We are writing you in order to ask you to suspend the capital execution of Mr. Joseph Roger O'Dell III.

With this request we do not want to influence the decision of the august institutions of your Country, but we are only asking a humble act in favor of a person who has declared himself innocent, and who, for years, has asked a revision of his trial.

Now that the Court has emitted its verdict, with a four to five vote, we address you, Mr. Governor, asking you to do what the legislation of your State grants you to save Joseph O'Dell's life. This act of clemency will constitute another evidence of the high juridical culture of your State.
