So we made it! Elio Vito (MP, Riformatori) and I will moderate "Conference Movimento dei Club Pannella". We think it is best for any criticism or suggestions and proposals concerning the Lista Pannella and the Clubs Pannella to be expressed here rather than in the Conference Radical Party (transnational).
Apart from being an instrument of debate and reflection, I hope this conference will also be a working tool for all those who want to promote initiatives concerning "civil, environmentalist and reformist campaigns".
It is perhaps appropriate to specify that the Movimento dei Club Pannella, while having promoted a series of important initiatives, such as the ten anti-state and anti-corporative referendums, has not yet held its "Constituent Assembly", which is scheduled for the end of July. At the time being there are the members and, as a collegial body, a Board which consists of 129 members. Sergio Stanzani was charged by the last board with the task of developing a draft statute to be submitted to vote during the upcoming Constituent Assembly.
Only recently did Pannella decide to officially found the Movement. So far there have been some perplexities, not only on the part of Marco but even by myself and others. Obviously we want to avoid forming the usual small party which cannot in the least change politics in our country. We want to offer instead a tool allowing all those who recognize themselves in Pannella's leadership to be able to operate and influence the reality in which they live. A "light" structure, which nonetheless has the strength of a praxis and of that way of conducting politics which has had so much influence on our country. This is a past that must be treasured, that becomes precious at a time of uncertainty as in the present. To want to affirm the rule of law, the certainty of the rules, to want to "reform" with the tools of dialogue and non-violence, is essential today.
I presume there is no special need to suggest an initial subject of discussion to trigger Agorà users' interest. The name Pannella is already a guarantee of opposite passions and opinions. At any rate, I deem it useful to include the "majority contract" illustrated on 7 June by Silvio Berlusconi and Marco Pannella in the first few texts, and the appeal of the Club Pannella-Riformatori Movement and Forza Italia signed on the eve of the European elections (8 June).
