Former European Commissioner Emma Bonino, now a Member of the European Parliament, will receive an award on 16 September, at Italy's Permanent Mission to the UN in New York, from Inter Press Service for her action to assist Kosovar refugees when she headed ECHO and, more generally, for her "decisive actions in the defence of human rights and humanitarian causes worldwide".
