The member of the Emma Bonino list Olivier Dupuis said that the Commission's proposals on negotiations over a stabilisation and association agreement with Macedonia was "totally inadequate", and criticised the EU which, he said, "privileges candidates without problems".

According to him, "without prejudice to good pupils, the Union needs to define an ad hoc political strategy for difficult pupils, with as goal heir full and rapid membership of the Union".
